Kashmir Tour

India is bordered by Jammu & Kashmir on the north, it boasts of imposing mountains, sprawling valleys, tranquil lakes and picturesque gardens. The antiquated summer capital of the state, Srinagar lends a doorway to the old world charm, with gardens like Shalimar and Nishat Bagh built by the Mughal royalty; it is even adorned with the largest tulip garden of Asia which opens up for a short period of time in March or April. Srinagar is dotted with beautiful mosques; Jami Masjid built in 18th century with exposed brick masonry architecture, Khanaq shah-i-hamadan also built in the 18th century with ornate wooden carvings and papier mâché work, are a sight to behold. The serene and tranquil nature of the famous Dal Lake is sure to mesmerize the travelers, a few nights spent on the house boats lining the lake or even a shikara ride on the lake visiting the floating markets will become a lifelong memory.

Jammu, the winter capital of the state has much to offer on its plate too. The main attraction of the place is the pilgrimage of Vaishno Devi which is some 50 kilometers away from the winter capital, and then involves a mild trek of 14 kilometers which can also be traversed on the back of a horse. Teeming with Hindu temples, Jammu is a paradise for pilgrims; even nature lovers will have their fill by lazing around on the banks of Mansar and Surinsar lakes or by visiting the rare avian species and endangered animals of the Nandini wildlife sanctuary.

Travelers can also enjoy the magnificent Pahalgam and the greenery of Aru Valley. Winter sports enthusiasts can try their hand at skiing and snowboarding in Gulmarg. A day spent digging the archeological marvels of the state namely Awantipora and Martund Sun temple or reveling in the natural beauty of Sonmarg, Yousmarg and Doodhpathri meadows will feel extremely rewarding. Off beaten places like Aharbal falls, Achabal garden and Kokernag springs will offer a heady mix of calm and unparalleled beauty. Jammu & Kashmir warrants a visit for its beautiful terrain, wazwan delicacies and its people filled with warmth.
